I am trying to figure out (once again) how to install my soundracard from these weird files that have no extensions
I came across http://www.alsa-project.org/main/index. ... p:Contents which has no manual at all
and http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php? ... reative+fi which doesnt tell what to do step by step.
So anyway i downloaded "alsa-driver-1.0.22.tar.bz2" file and dont know what to do with it. Double clicking it opens its contents and those contents do not tell me much or executing as any type of installer.
Another file downloaded was "gstreamer-ossv4-x86-32bit.tar.gz" same story, i dont know what to do with it.
I also tried to manual install my 3870 X2 driver so that maybe this time i would be able to use 1920x1080@60, right now i cant because ubuntu thinks i have 50" monitor instead of 47. ATI control panel says i have 47" which is correct.
So i downloaded file "ati-driver-installer-9-12-x86.x86_64.run" and here we go again, i have no idea what to do with it.
Double click just dont "RUN". Right click says open with Wine ? I think Wine is Windows XP loader or some sort.
