I know that Ultamatix is a script installer but does it depend on Ultimate Edition or does it turn a regular install of Karmic to a Ultimate Edition version with all of those beautiful eye candies? i guess basically the question I am getting at is: Can i just run Ultamatix and I will have Ultimate Edition when it is done?

Thank You,

In short-No

In a few days a new Karmic based UU2.4 will be released.
Ultramatix just helps you install more goodies, not turn 9.10 into this beautiful Ultimate Edition.

Thank you Blackwolf, that's kinda what i figured...I havent started installing anything into my 9.10 install yet because I am waiting on this release to come out and i was afraid that this would be the case.

Wow, 80K views (homepage almost daily), I felt it to be my place to tell you ladies n gents what is coming. I have been playing with Lucid & Ultamatix. Many changes are coming. I will leave it as that. I can not begin testing, even though a alpha has been dropped. Our server will take care of business. I mean that OUR server.

I am sorry, I may not have the time to make this happen. I have a program in lines less then 1000 lines of code and a hot topic. I do not like to re-create the wheel. I have my hands full. I am here to educate.

My source & I do not care, they can say they wrote it. To me it is progression of *nix. I may have to exceed my job, we will see.

Or exceeded my welcome?

I need a good download link for the latest version of Ultamatix. The one I found on ultamatix.com doesn't download anything.

Minus natty your fix snag themelinux.com's repo. It hosts the dependencies. Perfect btw ;) I intend to squash the natty bug as well. Bastages feel you do not need html in python let me adjust ;) Something I do not possess the time for currently.

After installing that you will need to:
Code: Select all
sudo apt-get update

To refresh your sources list.

i was playing with Ultamatix and it looks .....kool... but i didnt go thru with it, i just wanted to see what it does... anyhow, Theeman, i feel after reading these 22 pages that took ages... needs a break and a holiday in the Bahamas...

Is there anyone else out that whom can join in and lend a helping hand perhaps? I would, if I knew what i was doing... Ive only just started learning Python... but speaking from a "community's" stand point, it would be good if others could pitch in and participate to relieve Theeman of some tedious demands.... :D as a suggestion of course... :D
