Help & support for Ultimate Edition 2.1

[Solved] Alternative install on HP 2133 mini

Postby Pu94 » Sun Mar 01, 2009 9:02 am

Hi

Is there the possibility of starting an alternative text in the installation of Ultimate 2.1? I am in possession of the HP Mini 2133 and I have problems with X-org I can resolve only after a successful installation.

There is no text install. We may be able to help if you post your specs(video especially).
This does strike me as odd because you can purchase one with Suse installed(which is Linux) so there must be a way. Ultimate will load the Vesa video driver when you put the live disc in and you should be able to start GDM and install unless the issue is a mouse or keyboard. If you have an old ball mouse hanging around try that(anything not usb).

Yes it is true with the Hp mini preinstaloanym openSUSE but it seems not a test. Hardware is not detected by the system although the manufacturer provides to the package, and so the installation is difficult

I come from Poland and your Ultimate edition is very useful to us because the user and presents them very likely to convince him.

Turning to the HP Mini 2133 is offered in conjunction with the Internet in Poland. So that makes it possible to somehow implement the system to drivers and X-bodies so that the system could be in zainstalwoany graphics or if it is possible they were glued to install a text when new editions

Sorry for my English use the language translator.

An option for you is to download the alternate Ubuntu installer(text) and add the Ultimate repo which will include all the themes, etc. Then add the software you want and it should look and feel like Ultimate. I take it when you put the Ultimate disc in you do not get a desktop. What is the error message you get? If it drops you to a terminal you should be able to install the driver from a floppy, a usb drive or optical drive. Then just type sudo nano /etc/X11/xorg.conf and edit your xorg.conf file save it and then hit Ctrl Alt F7 and see if you get a desktop. Nano is a bit quirky to use and will take a bit of practice. i.e. Ctrl ^ O is what you use to save your changes and Ctrl ^ X to exit. Give it a shot and see if that works for you. When you get to the boot loader try either safe mode or the alternative kernel to see if you can get a desktop that way.

ups sorry ;]

I do not know which is related to thread August "komuniakt error" but I guess with regard to the error you start X-org

The problem with installing ultimate 2.1 on graphics is that after loading screen splesh August urchuchamia not already gdm or the gnome desktop. In version 1.8 or 1.6 running GNOME desktop I think the basic configuration in x-org with a resolution of 640x480. In the subsequent editions have an error xorg

Therefore

Today, doing so with the alternate install versions of the text and the installation of drivers for the via and x-org + config package recitals Ultimate but it still is not not the same Ultimate climate.

I know that one day were just repositories for the Ultimate version 1.6 and this script to update the system.
But now it is probably not a recent injury

My question is this ...

Could you create a script that will perform the entire migration process with the basic version of ubuntu cd to Ultimate?

Apparently Ultimatix gives the part of such a possibility but would be comfortable performing the entire script to automatically and would be designed for each user from any machine.

You will have to translate this to English using software so I can understand you or I can't help you. Maybe someone here speaks Polish. I barely speak English.

The problem is in this cause in August near the terminal. Where there is a similar problem on other computers installed the drivers for the ati closed and nvidia. Why do I need to install alternative versions of Ubuntu, run it safe mode and potemw override xorg

That's why I depend on the text by the installation. Damage from such a mode is not available in Ultimate: (
