Works Like a charm
Some things to say -
First off- I'm a big time 'noob' to any kind of linux, I had some issues with Nvidia control manager not writing the adjustments to xorg.conf file. I'm sure there is a way to troubleshoot Nvidia in itself, but didn't want to go there. This is how I got it to work. Don't laugh or poke fun, it worked. If somebody has issues with Nvidia like I did, feel free to make a post, and with any luck, somebody that knows what they are doing/talking about will lend you a 'correct way' of fixing your prob.
Nvidia 6800GS Works with no issues on install. Twin View, and dual X work also. However ... I did have some issues with getting dual X to work but I think it was just the 'noob' in me. Nvidia control manager would not write to xorg.conf. After making all the personal prefferance adjustments on how I wanted my displays to work and in witch orientation, I had to click "Preview" button in control manager > select all >
copy > close out preview > open terminal > sudo gedit /etc/X11/xorg.conf > File > "save as" > xorg.conf_yourcurrentdate_or_name_for_restore_point> close text editor> terminal > sudo gedit /etc/X11/xorg.conf > select all and delete > then paste (Ctrl+v or right click > paste) in the screen you coppied earlier from the preview > then click 'save' icon. Re-boot and you now have dual X (two monitors / monitor + TV, ect.) with their own desktops - very cool, or twin view witch is like "spanning" in a Windows enviroment where it stretches out your desktop over multiple displays.
