lets mix it up.

Why not run a contest that we all win on lol

Here is how it works -

The two persons to find and or make a GTK 3.0+ gnome 3.2 classic widget fully support DARK theme that passes ubiquity and has high contrast so all text etc can be read clearly.

WINS

prize = Ultimate Edition 3.2 x64 Top contestants edition.

Need a base to test this on ?

use this

in applications/other

you will find install release, use that to test if it passes ubiquity

Remember - we only need the theme not icons or pointers etc.

here is the catch - up to 2 winners.

So two dark themes accepted.

This give away ends Thanks Giving day

you said find, so, maybe this(can't really test it right now)

http://gnome-look.org/content/show.php/ ... ent=146479

I don't think that getting another disk would benefit me in anyway whatsoever, so if I win, give it to the second or third person.

So what we would really need is a gtk2 -> gtk3 converter? If that's possible, then that would solve a lot of problems.

gtk2 and gtk3 are two different beasts ! What would be nice is a blueprint of gtk3, or some type of GUI ! ;)

Wouldn't it though.

We need a GUI based gtk3.0+ creator lol.

What I also would like is a better understanding of ubiquity text and art.

There must be a way to make ubiquity conform to the theme wanted.

I think there is a hard code some where in ubiquity, Like the one in synaptic that screws with the search box on dark themes ! :x

The way it was exsplaned to me is ubiquity colors on key sections are set by nautilus colors in gtk 3.0.

What ever color is used in nautilus is used in ubiquity. But only some colors are supported and others are not.

Thus nautilus lite. Why ackgrounds for nautilus were removed.

Yes you are correct, nautilus and ubiquity pull from gtk3 and applications pull from gtk2 gtkrc, See how you like this one ! :) A work in progress ! <BREW>
