It is all working on the money now, of course am waiting still to be using it on the job! Nothing like a perspective employer rushing you to get all set so you can wait!!!! Eset took out what was left over from all these lousy toolbars that installed without my permission and the viruses it left behind. Of course was with the help of CCleaner a registry cleaner I highly recommend for all Windows users. Even on their free version, their support is beyond reproach and better than many things we pay for on Windows!!! So please keep Piriform in mind as these folks care what they make as all developers on Linux! A real fascinating thing, not sure if I mentioned this but I was hijacked to a site that was identical to Adobe which then did not install adobe flash player, it installed some super duper video player! Oh was I ticked when I saw was not Adobe and was some pirates trying to steal money I do not have! Pictures I put up of Eset, showed the settings as they should have stayed. Dummy me adjusted from clean to delete and it toasted Eset and left the system not fully obtaining the desktop. So, I booted to my Linux OS. Poor thing only runs at about 90% but damn it keeps saving my neck too! I went into my computer got into programs on the XP drive and deleted Eset, since there is no way to remove in safe mode. Next, I tried to boot to desktop no dice due to all registry entries left. So, yes my free CCleaner dumped all those registry entries in about 20 seconds and I booted straight to WinXP everything appeared and was usable. Then I had to complete the rest of the tasks for this position. I used Opera browser to get on the site. Next kicker was it made me install Net 4.0. After that completed, I then clicked on the next item to install. It said I had to remove Net4.0 so I could install that! Been a few years, I never thought it would be such a pain!!!!! So I uninstalled Net4.0 installed 3.5 and was in business completed the rest of the tasks, and was only left with one non functional program from the employer which needed Net4.0. I did not realize at the time all I had to to was re-install Net4.0 after I installed 3.5, so sent the employer's tech dept another email. To me, for a tech department not swift! Still, people hire what looks good on paper most times, not what is the real deal! My opinion only so never quote me on it! Their responses to all this were like looking in a cheap book, cause were not responses that I would expect from a technical dept. Would be more like I received on this forum, from people like you, Blackwolf, etc! Of course, after all these installations, I then faced the message, IE8 was trash! Figures, especially since I downloaded it straight from MS!!!! Probably a torrent from pirate bay would have been better???? So I sat there another 20 minutes waiting for IE8 to re-install. What are the results????? Same, trashed and crashes on active x, just out of date and MS is more worried about selling sidewinder(Win8) more than giving you a better browser! So just remember if you have to use XP, forget Firefox and IE8 and go with Opera. Opera handles java with no hassle whatsoever. Is still fine to use IE8 and Firefox on there, but not for java applications since they will not function correctly! Really appreciate all your advice Xxjoker as it added to everything I had to do to accomplish getting it all set up!!!! Best wishes to you, make sure you read the other post and all these posts as came up with some pretty decent stuff to work with XP. Some stuff for Win7, but not much. Is not as terrible an OS, but is nothing compared to my OS that is still a bit messed up? Is retarded isn't it???? I run at 90%, Ultimate runs at 110% and Win7 runs at about 70%. No sense there! Win7 should be at 90% and I should be at 70%! Of course owe all I know to TheeMahn and everyone here! He gave me the inspiration to put this OS together, led me down an awesome road filled with pleasure and adventure! I can never thank him enough! I learned more through reading his posts than I did in school!!! Absolutely brilliant he is and you better believe Blackwolf is right there with him!!! Always do yourself a favor and read all Blackwolf says too! These people know what computing is about! Is just the greatest to be here, and sure am bummed about waiting for this job, least though it gives me a break from Windows, putting my mind at ease!!!!!
