Upgrading Windows XP with no service packs

To upgrade a XP with no service packs you need to install the sp2 package that is full. The original sp was pulled and sp1a is there to only (emphatically mess) with you. It does nothing since you need the .net framework to support the install that is available in the sp1a update. You also can not update your internet explorer. You can not install chrome. You can not install opera. Honestly, I never think of firefox..not a big fan..maybe it works..don't know. anyways..sp2full from elsewhere, best way to go..then

I have xp... but i never install sp1 or 2 i just go straight for the sp3 network installer, Then i delete all IE icons and shortcuts.. and disable/delete all remote connection BS..

you can update to sp3. contrary to the above advice. which is excellent if you have a version with .net. i must clarify..this is the version that has no firewall even...bare..no sp nuttin

Windows does not have to be..not as unpleasant...there are ways to accomadate...personally I took control of take control..and there was some neat desktop program from germany that emulates the workspace environment in linux...also I hacked it to death just to get the dll to make my user environment work
