Been testing it since it's first beta.

Based on windows 7 base code. New touch screen friedly ui.

Suffers viruses and rot, this has not changed 1 bit.

No you don't have to use a touch screen.

Over priced and over hyped

It is just windows like always, there has been no improvements to it's over all design. Only the ui has changed.

Cloud based , updates and licensing are now 100% cloud hosted.

There ya have it , windows 8 in a nut shell.

I`ve got it and Seven Ultimate on a triple-boot with Ultimate Edition 2.6.3. It runs and looks good. I`ve never had any problems with Windows after an update bricked Vista, thank God. I`ve always respected this forum for not stooping to Windows-bashing like most other Linux forums, let`s not start now, yes?

I don't think it was a bash, we do have views and in this Forum we do have the right to express them.
onosendai58 I do have your viewpoint and agree.
A great majority of us still have a Windows install in some form and or have started with Windows and migrated to a Linux based OS.
Myself Ultimate Edition is the best by far.
This Forum expanded it's view on the other OS's out there, how they work, how they look...etc..
Look forward to a more comprehensive Forum with help coming to all member on all aspects in the computer world.

No bash was intended to offend.

BUT I deal with windows on a much larger scale in my line of work.

Windows has become a grave, and I do mean grave liability to my business.

You might not have issues, but the public on a very large scale do have many issues.

Rot and infections seem to be at the top of that list.

YOU MUST remember, Microsoft is one of the largest corporations on this planet.

They didn't get there by playing it clean by any means, they got there by knowing how to take advantage of business and ethics.

Windows is just a money true built and designed to keep feeding and keep growing.

Thus it can not and never has been built with perfection. But rather to ensure it kept giving payouts indefinitely.

More it rots and slows down over time, the more they make.

The more it suffers infections in the billions, the more they make.

At the cost of the people.

Just the nature of large business, just how it is. In my line of work it took me decades to finally see this.

I talked to my old IT boss and asked him if he had looked at Windows 8, his opinion was that XP still worked, and he would keep it until it dies. He knows Linux as well or better than me. He noted that there are Win 7 patches every week, so it still doesn't work.

I noted that Canonical is making a similar mistake, he had good working GUIs and tossed them to go with GUIs that don't work (KDE4, Unity, Gnome3)

yep canonical looks to be making the same fatal mistake.

Luckily for us , Linux is open source.

We can still make a stable release with or with out Canonical's help.
