It is nothing more then windows 7 base code with a tweaked UI.

I find it no faster, not even slightly.

A website just did a comparison between 7 and 8. Ten-second boot-time as opposed to 32 seconds for 7. Also significantly faster on several other benchmarks. Not 7`s base code either. Honest and open discussion is one thing, sour grapes is another. I don`t care about your business experiences with Windows, all I know is it works. Besides, none of your customers are using 8 yet, yes?

I remember the same being said of vista to windows 7 lol.

Ended up being false once all the hype settled.

There might end up being a slight code improvement. But it always ends up being very slight.

We already know windows 8 isn't anything NEW. Just revised.

Almost everyone, including many Linux enthusiasts, agree that Win7 is a great OS. Vista wasn`t. 8 is also including Hyper-V virtualization, that`s usually only found in server editions and I don`t believe a Linux distro includes that as standard. :o

vista was the building blocks for windows 7.

Same code, just finished.

Point of fact vista SP3 was the start of windows 7

I have 1502 clients that would tell ya windows 7 was a waste of money and wont ever go back lol.

Yep, same code, just better, lol. Again, 1502 or 15,000,002, many people are happy with 7. 8 will be another blockbuster in sales and usage, while many like me will dual-boot both. And with Windows To Go, I can put the whole thing on a 3.0 USB stick and take it with me. BTW, the new developer platform is based on HTML5 and JavaScript. All applications developed whether using C#, MFC or HTML5/JavaScript will translate into WinRT (Windows Runtime) API's, which sits above the Windows Kernel directly. So it isn`t the same old code. Sorry.

Lol...I do like Win 7, Win 8.....not to my liking.
As far as the roast...he he..they may put me in the same fire.
#1...you cannot even compare a beta release..there are going to be a lot of driver issues, to name just one.
I will stay with my Ultimate Edition or even my own build when it comes down to Linux.
But I will always have a Win install, I do have $$$ on Graphic Software and on on some Games also.
Someone let me know if there is a Linux distro that will play BF3 when it is released or even Crisis 2 at present.
I am not going to alienate myself, I do want to learn and see for myself.... ;)

Yep, as you can see I also have 3 licenses of windows 7.

But the only thing I use it for is Itunes and gaming.

Linux surpasses all other needs.

The only thing windows ever got right was D.X. gaming.

Sadly, there are times windows comes in handy. Lucky for me them times are very far and between.
