Updating Live ISOs

Postby mcarollo » Fri Jan 20, 2012 10:19 am

OK, so I have a great Live DVD image (e.g. UE3.0, or any Live DVD) and I want to create an updated version. Add in all the current updates, etc. IS there a guide to doing that? I feel stupid and lost at the same time.

Hi mcarollo,
There is a solution that may work for you.
The program is called Remastersys and it allows you to make a .iso image of your updated system.
The program is available from here: http://www.geekconnection.org/remastersys/ubuntu.html
I would suggest you use the backup mode if it's just for your own purposes. There is a 'Dist' mode that allows you to create your own Live DVD that you can give to others without it having any personal information.

Hope that helps. :)
