how to have a pure gnome environment?

Postby littlehans » Mon Aug 15, 2011 9:02 pm

To be frank, I really got to love this distribution, beautiful and powerful.
However, one thing I am struggling about which is that I prefer gnome only and would like to uninstall kde & kde-based softwares because of my low-spec computer.
Can any one be kind enough to teach me? I tried, but failed.
I am waiting online.....

ps: I am using Ultimate 2.9...

Which version of Ultimate Edition are you using? Odd number distros come with KDE and other GUIs, Even number ones are gnome only

But, if you have a low spec PC then I would recommend 3.0 lite. It is Lubuntu based and very light on resources.

OK, 2.8 is based on 10.10 as is 2.9, and it is a Gnome only release.

Okay! Many thanks.
But lite is too simple and I just want to have useful softwares in the system not a bundle of kde softwares that I won't ever use. That 's the point.
Thanks again.
