Clonezilla Ultimate Edition 2.9 to "a" Partition on Different Drive???

Postby nesnfsn » Wed Apr 06, 2011 9:11 am

I have a Sony notebook with 2 500GB Hard drives. My original config was OSX86 on the Primary drive, and Windows 7 / Ubuntu 2.8 on the Secondary drive.

Several non-fixable issues with OSX86 on my notebook that apparently have not and will not be addressed (no ACHI, Sony hardware has quirks, etc. - so graphics is minimal, no LAN, other issues).

So when Ultimate Edition 2.9 64-bit edition was released, installed it over the OSX86 Primary Drive (500 GB available), activated updated graphics, installed some software, made some tweaks, then installed Macbuntu. Changed the background (wallpaper). Voila. Sony notebook never looked nor ran so well, nor looked as aesthetically appealing.

On the other drive, I removed Ultimate Edition 2.8, and still have WIndows 7 Ultimate 64-bit installation. Approximately 250 GB remaining. Wanted to move Ultimate Edition 2.9 installation over to the 250GB partition. Know that I can shrink the Primary Drive installation down to 250GB or below if necessary with GParted. Not familiar with whether Clonezilla will allow me to archive and then transfer Ultimate Edition 29 archive to partition on Secondary Drive.

Any experience with transferring Ultimate Edition from one drive to partition on secondary drive on same computer? Other more safe and/or efficient methods?

Thank you for any guidance,
