Sorry to butt in...but here's my question, and it's not intended to offend you, but you appear to have 2 computers... will neither of these give you a good burn of the ISO? Perhaps you need to try a different download source??? Or can you expand on what is causing the problems to give you"coasters" Perhaps you need to use a different program for burning??? Just some observations...we'd like to see you have success!

I had to troll around the internet for a while to find to find a release that didn't spit out a checksum error when u burnt it to DVD, but I found it nonetheless. If it burnt on windoze it'll burn on anything.

Its not quite the same kind of Coaster as you think, I mean I have Older Ultimate Edition and Ubuntu, linux mint, ect discs that become obsolete fairly quickly, I do like keeping up and seeing whats added and everything. And I've never actually had a bad burn of a DVD using Alcohol 120% mostly. There was also this distro I wanted to check out just because of what they said their distro came with (mostly games) but its apparently an 8gb iso. Meant for a dual layer. But back to the point, for now, I think I'll just stick with Ubuntu, Linux mint, ect until I can get a larger flash drive.

Heck, PM me your mailing address. I'll be happy to burn 2.8 on DVD for you if you want when it's released.
No sense giving up on the greatest distro out there because of storage issues.

Yea, I kinda have the same issue, I have about a dozen old CDs and DVDs of distros I never will use again, including early versions of Ultimate Edition. I am thinking I might go the USB route this time, as I *do* have a 4 GB USB drive. But that being said, DVD-R prices are getting down there, and throwing away a 25 cent DVD doesn't
seem too wasteful anymore.

A note, I don't keep my newspapers either, even though they cost me 25 cents a day.

Sorry to butt in, but i personally don't see the real reason for not using the os. Because of your 2GB usb disk? why try to use a flash drive when you can burn it on dvd? Anyways man, if you still decides to use another distro, just want to wish you best of luck. Hope you come visit us back on the board soon because your a registered user which means your family & family should say close to each other :D
