I have bluetooth headset (Motorola HS 805) and bluetooth mouse no one works under ubuntu 7.10. Both works fine under Ultimate Edition 1.4 or 1.5. In the last weeks I'v tried opensuse 10.3, fedora 8 beta 3, mandriva 2008.0, pclinuxos 2007 09, ubuntu/kubuntu/xubuntu 7.10 but no one works so smoothly like Ultimate Edition. I am using windows only for syncing between my linux-smartphone and notebook (Motorola Phone Tools).

i agree. just got my box up and figured id try it before putting Ultimate Edition 1.5 back on it. i really dont think it was ready to be released. im sure there is more probs than just xorg but i cant get very far. actually i really cant do anything. xorg is seriously screwed if you ask me. my resolution is so huge i cant see anything on the login screen all orange. and the desktop isnt any better. i see the top title bar (only name and date) and below that is the lower title bar. thats my WHOLE screen. idk maybe its just my hardware (radeon xpress 200) but it seems as though they shouldve waited to release this one. ill be going back to my Ultimate Edition 1.5 and staying there for some time i think. hell Ultimate Edition 1.4 and 1.5 worked 10 times better than the original 7.04 fiesty did. good woprk on them thee mahn. canacol get your damn act together (my opinion of course).

You know that is the beauty of Ultimate Edition I have just built and burnt what will be 1.6 300MB of updates, on 2nd build what may not work in Ubuntu Gusty may in Ultimate Edition just because of the raw amount of updates, this release I also took the time to upgrade the kernel and restricted drivers. Currently it is 1.6GB fitting 1.6 1.6 ;) It will be better that is for sure, no pun intended. They do put alot of effort in making it, but they work by a deadline. My deadline is when I see it is good to go ;)

Hi Everyone,
I agree, I have been trying to get GG working on my test box for 2 days now and finally giving up (to many problems to list) I am finding something else to play with. I have tried at least 30 different distros and NOTHING even comes close to Ultimate Edition 1.4 or 1.5 (great job Thee Mahn) I have finally got rid of ms windows on my surfing box and would be completely done with it if I could convince Avid to make a Linux version. I do video editing for a living and can't live without Media Composer (unfortunately). Like everyone else I am eagerly awaiting 1.6, but also glad that you take the time to get it right instead of rushing it. Keep up the good work.

BTW My avatar is not me personally, but my translation of what Windoze system notifications are REALLY saying.

Thank you for your great job. I have registered a new website (http://ubulti.extra.hu) I am planning to translate some FAQs from your site helping another people installing and using Ultimate Edition on hungarian language if you allow it.
I tried to install 7.10 but bluetooth mouse and headset don't work and after installing LAMP from ubuntu gutsy repo, my notebook started rt-kernel and freezed during booting every time. On Ultimate Edition 1.4 or 1.5 works both after some modifications in bluez config like adding MAC address. I think bluetooth is very important for laptop users, for me specially syncronizing between my PDA's and linux but I can't find any way do it. The second most important thing using my Option GTMAX 3.6+. Last time installed UMTSmon 0.7 rpm with alien it works fine: only problem is without wired and wireless connection I can't download it by a new install. It would be great using umtsmon during new install  it works with most all gprs/umts/hsdpa pcmcia cards.

i agree with you 100%. you say you upgraded the kernal too? i think that was a good choice. i heard rumors about alot of things just plain not working with the gutsy kernal. various sound and video issues. hdd's mystriously disappearing. frezzing probs. very high cpu usage. panic issues ect. however im not sure if this is with the kernal it was released with it may have been with an earlier version as this was about a month ago. idk perhaps i was a bit hard on them they do put alot into each release as nearly each distributor does. and naturaly problems are going to arise at release time due to the fact that there are alot more people using it now. at of course it cant be tested with every peice of hardware imaginable before release. i do feel they couldve pushed the release back a a few weeks to a month though. yea they wouldve missed there deadline but the outcome may have been different. they wouldve been the first to push back a release either (of course name wouldve changed. no longer wouldve been 7.10). although ive had serious problems ive decided not to give up so easily though (glutton 4 punishment i guess). ive installed it in my test box this time so that i can keep up with how things are progressing as well as hopefully help with a some bug reports. partially fixed the resolution issue though just toook the xserver-xorg-ati driver from my fiesty disc and used that to downgrade the driver for the time being. resolution is fine now but i get out of sync errors at boot until the login screen shows so there is still a problem somewhere. as well as weird freezing when i click the shutdown button (the one in the top right corner) mouse still moves cant access menus and takes a few mins for the shutdown selection screen to show. hdd activity goes through the roof at the same time. Ultimate Edition 1.5 back on my main machine though for everyday use (best os ive ever used 2 date). i also have installed Ultimate Edition 1.5 on a seperate hdd on my test box so if you need me to test anything in the future ill be ready. well anyway sorry for the long reply/story but i thought id share some more views and hopefully if anyone else has same problem downgrading the driver will work for them too. well anywayz its late so im off to bed. cheers :)

Thanks I would appreciate that, I will send traffic your way, for those that prefer to view in hungarian. Bluetooth support and extra networking tools are included in what I am burning, hopefully final...

If things go as smooth as Ultimate Edition did, I now speak of it as the past it is uploading, 4 days ;) Gamers will most likely be less if addressed with the same thought in mind, it used to take me nothing short of a month for each. You may be set up in short order as well.
