Hardware choices get even more complex

Postby pch.shot » Tue Oct 21, 2008 3:02 pm

With the upcoming release of the Intel i7 processors in November things are going to change once again!! You will need a different motherboard and ram setup. It will be the first time that the memory controller will be on the cpu. It will be 3 channel meaning you will be running 3 or 6 ram sticks instead of 2 or 4. The cpu socket now will be a rectangle. I can't wait to see the benchmarks. If it anything like what the leaks have been we will all be wanting one. So for those planning on building a new system, I would hold off until 2009. Once the i7 is available all the other processors will drop in price big time!!!

OK, now thats just plain silly talk!!!
What they don't tell you is that 'Doctor' Peterson is actually a Dentist. A Dentist that is constantly high on NO2 (nitrous oxide - in case you really didn't know)
I think Doctor needs to go back to grade school and learn the difference between a rectangle and a square.

Mr.Webster wrote:Rectangle:
: a parallelogram all of whose angles are right angles ; especially : one with adjacent sides of unequal length
Square:
: a rectangle with all four sides equal

So, by definition of a rectangle emphasis on 'especially' is 'one with adjacent sides of unequal length' Is this not what we learn in kindergarden!?
OK that smart ass just pissed me off .... I'm not going to the damn dentist any more :!:

Look at the definition of 'Square' ... its distinction is based on the addition of 'with all sides equal' to the rectangle's definition. That in itself to me is a difference between the two - otherwise you would find the two in a thesaurous hanging out with the same 'buddies'.
