Protect your eyes by changing the temperature of your monitor.
Sure most modern monitors have an inbuilt mechanism to handle the same but is not a convenient way.
Code: Select all
sudo apt-get update

Code: Select all
sudo apt-get install redshift

Next open a terminal and type:
Code: Select all
redshift -l 55.7:12.6 -t 5700:3600 -g 0.8 -m vidmode -v

You will see a dump and your screen color will gradually change.

In the above command the values 55.7:12.6 is the longitude and latitude of Copenhagen. You need to change the values to your location/city/town. These values can be obtained by a very simple google search.

Some of you may have heard of Gunnar Optiks. The glasses Gunnar makes does a similar job by using a more effective method by using special glasses but spending money is a turn off.
