Thankyou seems thats the good md5sum so no issues with download. While i was researching was mentioned a couple places that it could be a issue with the burn or a hardware issue. Ok if your having this issue could please list system specs maybe we can find the common hardware for those having this problem.

Meister:

Same md5sum on my end.

Burned the iso to 3 separate cd-rom discs, different manufacturers - verbatim, sony and maxell. So, it is not the discs. Also, used Brasero from Ultimate 2.9 amd64 install, so it is not the burning software (used for who knows how many discs both cd and dvd). Finally, I had burned iso at the lowest available speed (can't recall if that was 4x or 8x).

So, I do believe we have some type of programming issue.

What about running Ultimate Edition 3.0 lite on my Sony laptop?

It runs Ultimate Edition 2.9 64 bit fine. Sony Vaio VGN-AR840E. Core 2 Duo T8100 2.1 Ghz. 4 GB RAM (800 Mhz). nVdia 8600M GT.

Thoughts?

Sounds to me like it should work fine.

I would say try it for sure.

Had, and as you can see from the earlier posts in this thread, I get a CLI screen, without any GUI. That is what I have been trying to ask for help fixing.

I had tried "sudo startx", as well as "sudo service gdm restart". No luck with either.

Hope that you might have a fix for me (and others running into this no GUI problem).
