No, it is not beta and no it was not rushed. I had very little to work with as far as space of the cd. As far as boot my PC, Goliath's PC, Meisters PC, my laptop, and a Asus EEE pc boots directly to the desktop. This is the first case / situation I have heard of. I am basing my assumption off only what I have seen with my own eyes. I am not taking into account the 50 or so admin / mods & beta testers word, even though I have seen screenies of them running it & trust them fully.

I would like to see your specs so I can further review your situation.

It`s a Compaq Presario lappy with 3GB ram, middle of the road. I got it running with sudo lxdm. No biggie, I`ll just wait for 3.0 Gamers.

Never mind, I`ll stick with 2.9, I don`t care for the "x"apps, (xfburn, etc.)

That is sort of odd. It works fine on my HP 64 Bit. I'm wondering now, did you try any of those CDs on another machine? It would be interesting to know if they work on something else. I know you shaved it pretty close on the CD size, Thee. After 2.9 this was sort of a shock, but one can always add the programs needed. At least it has a "Time and Date setting GUI" I tried one the other day that looked good, but I looked and looked and couldn't find any way to set date and time except via terminal. I'd say in most cases if someone needs something light weight and fast, this should do it.

You know, I tried one of the more famous distros last night. They must be using Gnome 3 with the new driver, it started to load up than the video tore up, went to tiled rectangles like with lines through them. Couldn't make out anything on the screen. You know, I can't believe nVidia video is that uncomman and the other, older distros work fine, I can't believe these new ones don't. That's about the 3rd one I've tried with that problem.

Anyway, I'll keep checking back for the next release and if I run into any problems I'll let you know. :D

I guess my main question is: Ultimate Edition is supposed to be "everything and the kitchen sink, size doesn`t matter". So why go with a lightweight desktop like LXDE and Openbox? Honestly curious. (For 3.0 Full, I mean).

Chief, why are you having a problem understanding the need for LITE ?

It is NOT nor intended to be the normal Ultimate Edition.

it is a netbook/low resource system based alternative.

Normal Ultimate Edition 3.0 should and is intended to have gnome.

1. You said 3.0 Full was based off Lite. 2. My comment asked if 3.0 Full was going to have LXDE and Openbox like Lite. Read the whole comment, please and my name isn`t "Chief". Enough, it`s time for Falling Skies.
