Do you have an external usb 3.0 drive.

well I dont know if this will help but i had ubiquity crashing as well , and through trial and error found out you need to unplug monitors external hard drives for it to succeed..and maybe this is what pch.shot is referring to cause I noticed just when it gets to configuring hardware it crashes so must be hardware related..... I installed on my Toshiba laptop had had many crashes.. so unplugged monitor and my usb hard drives.. and installed fine...
