Install problems

Postby laxgoaltender » Sat Mar 10, 2012 7:39 pm

First of all, I must say that Ultimate Edition 3.01 is awesome!!!! Because I could not figure out how get it to boot off of a flash drive, I burned a DVD. No problems there. I previously had installed Ubuntu, and when I installed Ultimate Edition, the installer gave me the option to replace that, and keep what packages it could. This is the option that I chose. When the bar at the bottom got to about 50%, the installer crashed, and said to sent certain documents to the developer, but after that, the whole system froze, and I shut it down. I restarted the system (from the DVD), and tried to install again. Since I had deleted all Linux partitions, I chose the option to install to the open part of my hard disk. The second time, the install went smoothly, and I can now run form hard disk. So in a nutshell, I am saying that the installer crashed while installing over Ubuntu.

The problem that I was having was creating the boot-able usb drive, but the tool that you recommenced worked fine.

I only have 3 usable Gigs of Ram, so I prefer to boot "live CD's" rather than a virtual machine.
