Forgive my NOOB questions please. I'm fairly new to Linux, (about 3 weeks now) and am running 11.04 64 bit. I really like it, especially since I (somehow) managed to "get rid" of the Unity desktop. My question is, What exactly IS Ultimate Edition? Is it an OS in and of itself or an "addon" for Ubuntu? Will I get Ubuntu's software updates? I know I have more, but my mind is drawing a blank. Hope to get a response soon.

Welcome to Ultimate Edition...
Let me try to answer this one this way, and not get to much flack on it.
Ultimate Edition is it's own Distro, yes it is based on Ubuntu, which in turn is based on Debian,,,lol.
Confused yet....?
Linux Mint, another nice Distro is also based on Ubuntu...that is another example.
Here is a link which will provide some answers...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Linux
This is more information on how Linux system works..... <BREW>
Look at Linux as a tree, trunk being Linux Kernel and bough's and branches being the Distro's being formed from it.

I am hoping to have none when I am done & let the computer do it for me. I do apologize I have not been on top of it as far as Ultimate Edition. I have had to transfer bills out of Karen's name to mine & have a heavy load of now moving, please bear in mind this I have not finished.

Far from truth. From the end result. None the less you can currently listen to tunes as you install.

Please work with me. I have other kudos even the admin has not seen. Let me work my magic.
I have 2 choices, let them screw up & do nothing. Should say 3, #2 search "emerald natty" a tip of the iceburg. I hate natty. What was I doing? Piss poor a O/s they release. Let's pick up the pieces. It all works out in the end. I will not take natty from you, however gnome will be your default. What were they thinking?

TheeMahn,

TheeMan, you take as much time as you need. I can't possibly imagine what you're going threw. And it sounds like you have a lot on your plate to deal with. I just appreciate everything that you've already done with this site and with this distro. You have been a big help to me without even knowing it. I just want you to know that I appreciate all you have done and will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. Also can't wait till 3.0 drops, it's looking outstanding as always :).

Sounds and looks good. :)
Sure glad I have a few 1TB drives installed in my system, for testing all the different versions of Linux..
I have tried almost every Linux Distro, on distrowatch. I like PinGuy because of a few apps he had preinstalled like Webilder Applet 0.7.. I ended up adding it to 2.9, and adding docky side bars like he had in his PinGuy.
It would be nice to have Webilder as a default applet in Ultimate Edition. ;)
