Hello unixmen, <BREW> Welcome! First, your posts must be approved by Admin or Mod's before they are viewed, untill you have posted "x" amount of times, (sorry I forget how many), (We try to approve posts A.S.A.P.)
What I do to change the cursor:
gksudo nautilus
navigate, filesystem/usr/share/icons/default, open "index.theme" (as root) and change Inherits="YOUR NEW CURSOR"
log out and back in you should have your new cursor system wide !
Note: this is a known issue in Ubuntu and not an Ultimate Edition Glitch!
Hope this helps ya !

I change cursors from Appearance Preferences>Customize>Pointer
Just open Compiz Config Settings Manager go to Windows Decoration in Command change
emerald --replace to gtk-window-decorator --replace or metacity --replace
it works 100%
