XML - short for the eXtensible Markup Language - is a flexible and structured way to define documents and information. XML is similar to HTML, the markup language used to define web pages. As its name implies, the XML standard is a foundation that can be extended to create other document and information standards.

This is the basic definition according this Site. They also explain how it works to a degree , I hope this is some help.

each and every link posted explained how to use it to some degree.

Other then that, with some luck you might get some one to help that has used it.
