Hello giat_fren.

can you log in to the modem and change the server to be DHCP+auto connect?
This will solve the needz of the sudo for you.
Then it will auto connect with the DHCP connection - you will have ip and connection all time.

Do a wvdialconf to detech
the modem, it might require several trials.
If all is ok, run pppconfig and fill in the required fields.
For, authentication, if you are not sure of the type used by
your ISP, choose PAP, save the file. Then run pon <nameOfFile>,
Your connection should be up.

I just Downloaded Ultimate Game Edition 2.6, went through the 8 hours it took for my srap heap to download it, went in and redone most of my hardware so i would have a decent machine then popped in the Disk i burnt, it went to the language select, and mode select screens and i clicked on "Start or install Ultimate game edition 2.6" went through a loading screen, and then it tells me i need to log in, and i tried every possible combination of passwords and usernames for my computer and it kept saying there was an authentication failure, it never went through an instillation process so i was wondering what i could be doing wrong?

as the password and username? no i shall though i was looking through all the readme's and seeing what all i could find, ill let you know if that works, ive been trying for this OS since my windows crashed on me

Glad that you Like the U.E Distro.
The installation process of the U.E is quit simple to go with,
When the process start just hit the Enter ,select your Country....
You can see the installation Guide on the 2.7 Forum.
There is no need to insert User/pass in the process to your Desktop at all.
Just hold on there for few and the window will be gone.

I tried hitting enter and enter and it gave the same so i shall attempt the wiating around for a few to see if that works thank you for helping me out

Well i gave it a shot and had no luck, the log in screen stayd up
so i feel maybe being such a newb at ubuntu is kind of showing my appologies for all the iquireies

Please see if your MD5 is correct + if you have burned The ISO in X4 max speed.
One more Q for you,
is this the only system that you have there on your HDD?
Did you use the Parted Magic to set Unallocated partition for the installation process on your Drive?

the md5 on the disk does not match and the disk was burnt at max speed
I am usuing the newest distro of ubuntu right now, and that is all i have on my HDD, and did not set aside space for the install, so i will go now and do so and try to find a download with the coreect md5, though this is teh one i grabbed from sourceforge.
