i found that firestarter and gufw are gui's for the same firewall-ip tables. (tis why i like linux, makes my brain grow bigger-learn something everyday :P )
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=868194&page=2

#1 did you check you're os disk for errors ?
Release: Ultimate Edition 2.0 Gamers
Architecture: x86 (32 bit)
Size: 4,243,374,080 bytes
MD5SUM: 375b33937ab2070ddaee486f77c5fbfc

here threemahn tells how to check it.worth a quick look, ive downloaded distro's before, and didn't check em.they worked somewhat(which lead me to believe it was fine)until i tried certain software.....then....crap.so learn from my lesson.

#2 update you're system using synaptics, reboot if needed.

#3 then play with you're mighty linux os system.add software, take software out.do what you will ;)

If you are not that familiar to Ultimate or Linux for that matter, then this tutorial may confuse you and may Bork your system. There is no guarantee that this will work for your PC hardware or that you will be able to complete some of the tasks without running into trouble. I would read through the entire tutorial before attempting to complete it. This way you will have an idea on what you will be doing before you get to it."

Please be aware that that guide, depending on what part you use may cause you problems..It's better to ask questions and get direct answers to specific problems...Admins. and Mods are in the process of reviewing this guide, and have yet to determine if everything is correct...thanks

danielpop,
Try this link: http://ultimate.linuxfreedom.com/ Be advised that this is a 4 GB download.
It is for Ultimate Edition 2.0-x86 Gamer's version. I do not remember if there is a 2.1 Gamer's... Not sure if there will be a Gamer's 2.2 either. But, with Thee Mahn's Ultimatix utility, I think that you can make the current release of Ultimate Edition into a Gamer's version. You might want to wait for a couple of days, and see if there will be a Gamers Ultimate Edition 2.2.
