Hello and welcome alexdta! <BREW> Click the compiz icon in your top panel and set window decorator to GTK, and then reload window manager ! That should do it ! :ugeek: ;)

Hello people, I've been using Ultimate Edition since 2.6 but I've never liked the defalut theme. I just installed the 2.8 edition but this carries a really blue anonying theme. I changed it to a more neutral (yes!a boring one) but I have the same problem with some aplication having the blue background.

I have changed the ubuntu theme and set windows decorator to GTK but this aplications have the same blue anonying background. I think is only the Kde aplications such as amarok and labplot.

Plz help, I don't want to install the default version of ubuntu.

Hi

I had the same problem, then kiwinsn came to my rescue and posted this:
System - Preferences click on System Settings

If its not there, sudo apt-get install systemsettings, then it will appear in the menu.

This is a GUI for the KDE side of things. Double click on Application Appearance (second box in on the top row). That takes you to Styles. I change the Widget Style to Clearlooks (2nd item down on the drop box), then apply. OK to the prompt, then run it again and you can then view all the items in System Settings.

Restart the KDE progs and / or reboot, and you should be fine.

Thanks for the help, I followed your instructions but the problem remains. I dont know what to do, I did a clean instalation of ubuntu (original version) in my latptop and I dont have this problem with those aplications (especially amarok and labplot). The blue background is really disturbing.

I have to point out that I'm using 64bits edition. Dont know if this is important.

Them are KDE colors, set via system settings like mentioned already.

System/prefer/system settings/color themes etc.

Only way to set them is via KDE tools or settings.

Hey dude,
Its simple man.I wil tell the path. Applications->System Tools->Ubuntu Tweak. Select login setup for left list. In the bottom of the right window, there is an unlock button. Click on that button & type ur system password wen it asks. Then u can click on that button for changing the background.

Ur 1st attempt may be failure. dnt worry. try again. Use only pics where that can be seen in the uploading window.
