I cannot seem to figure out how to change my default application background color. I've got everything setup the way i want it but when i open kate or parts of amarok they are the default royal blue, i uploaded a screenshot, is this a script in .bashrc or is there some color options that im not seeing haha.

Easy fix, background colors can be found here.

You can customize your themes and backgrounds in appearance preferences.

preferences/appearance

Every theme has it's own colors but you can customize this as well as shown.

If your using compiz as windows decorator then use emerald theme manager to set windows boarders.

Easy as that.

I've tried that,

i've changed the theme and window borders before, it doesn't do it with most applications, only ones i've really noticed is kate and amarok. Its not a huge deal if i don't get it changed just thought it was another menu somewhere i was missing.

I've also noticed (not sure if this is related) that my new cursor i use that i changed in appearance changes within windows differently, inside firefox and other windows that colors are correct its the new cursor, but inside amarok, kate and the desktop its the original default cursor.

How I change cursor global in Ultimate Edition 2.8.

compiz icon select GTK as the windows decorator.

then in appearance, set the theme and customize your colors and pointer.

then set it back to compiz after done.

It kinda does not use system theme like it supposed to lol. Never did.

Yup that fixed my cursor, thanks a lot! I've been loving this distro, i haven't us Ultimate Edition since like 2.1 or something like that and going to 2.8 is pretty bad ass
