Also my sound is messed up, channels are swapped left with right.
I might as well get the answer how to change that.

My Card is Creative X-Fi and front panel below my DVD Drive is not functioning for input (but i guess it cant due to no input found at all)
i tried alsa config command and all inputs are set to 100% yet none of them showing in volume control.
Also how to add volume control to task bar ?

I hope to get answers soon.

Thanks u guys in advance.

If you have no volume indicator in you task bar your sound wont work right! Right click your task bar and, add to panel " Indicator applet " then see if your card is working right ! you may have to reboot! also I have had to shut down, pull my sound card, then boot to full desktop, shut down, reinstall sound card and then reboot for it to be seen and work correctly ! :ugeek:

soundcard works fine, its the ultimate editiron that messed it up
I just tried clean install of ubuntu 10.10 and there was input analog.
i also noticed many problems ubuntu Ultimate Edition had were gone with clean ubuntu, problems like slow loading and mouse clicking issues and other issues i cant remember and dont relly care now that i got back to windows hoping linux will once rise and live (not just say it does).

What I did for my input was go to sound preferences mine was set to analog surround 5.1 output so I changed it to analog surround 5.1 output + analog stereo output and it all worked fine for me. My sound is also the X-Fi.

An important aspect of the technical components of a good recording is to record the correct volume of the input signal. This is the level at which the unit recorded your voice while you read. Do you want to avoid is too low or too high. Too high, distorted sound. Set too low, and often you end up with too much noise.
