Postby mcnammara » Sun Oct 31, 2010 12:53 pm

Hello

Someone has found the following problem UE2.8: After login, the numeric keypad to function, and does not return to work, the key 'numlock' no longer works, only after a new restart.
Note: The keyboard is normal in winXP.
Any suggestions?

Grateful

This problem isn't new. Seen it in 2.6 and 2.7 as well.

It is keyboard specific and does NOT effect all keyboards.

solution 1

use number keys to enter password at log on screen and allow the number key to auto enable after log on.

solution 2

disable number lock on in bios and manual enable at log on screen.

solution 3

update bios, make no mistake about it, this is a BIOS issue not a OS issue.

these options have worked for me in the past.

Also this type of problem also HIGHLY exists in windows to. Might not be your keyboard this time around. But I have seen more keyboards in windows suffer this annoyance then I have in linux.
