For now I yet find no other useful tools for editing high definition videos using .mts video files, and transcoding seems to be the only choice. Running a virtual machine with your favorite windows based software in order to do the job is another choice, but it is too demanding in equipment and resources.
Por ahora no he encontrado otra herramienta util para la edicion de video de alta definicion usando archivos de video .mts, y la transcodificacion parece ser la unica opcion. Correr una maquina virtual con tu software favorito basado en windows para hacer el trabajo es otra opcion, pero es sumamente demandante en equipo y recursos.
For those interested: in my humble point of view, there is just a few options for now in order to run high definition multi-track video editing systems using linux.

The Video Lan Movie Creator project, which indeed isn't useful yet for a long video editing or composition. But it looks really good and promises to be the fastest way to edit a video. I personally tried it and I find it really easy to use and with a very comprehensive GUI.
El proyecto "Video Lan Movie Creator", el cual de hecho no es muy util todavia para una composicion o edicion larga de video. Pero se ve realmente bien y promete ser la forma mas rapida de editar un video. Personalmente lo he probado y lo encuentro verdaderamente facil de usar y con una interfaz grafica de usuario bastante completa.

It's already installed by TheeMahn in the Ultimate Edition 2.8 32 bit distribution. If you find problems changing the skin of the software you may have to also install kde desktop manager in order to make kdenlive look different.
Ya esta instalado por TheeMahn en la distribucion Ultimate Edition 2.8 de 32 bits. Si encuentras problemas cambiando la "piel" del software puede ser que tambien tengas que instalar el administrador de escritorio kde para poder hacer que kdenlive se vea diferente.
