if i want use an alternative login screen other than the given ones how do i do it? i have a theme i would like to install but it only gives the .png file when i extract it?
http://art.gnome.org/themes/gdm_greeter-- fusion is the desired theme. i got there by r click, get more themes online choose theme and there is a host of themes to choose from. after download where do i go and what do i do to get it as default login screen??

open synaptic and install xsplash this is where your logon window image will be saved and pulled from when you install Python GDM2 http://launchpad.net/gdm2setup/0.2/0.5. ... 2setup.deb :ugeek:

ok tried that but can not see the "fusion" theme. am i missing things?

OK Next, In terminal, gksudo nautilus , navigate Filesystem>home>username, Press Cnrl+h to open hidden folders, copy Themes from .themes to usr>share> themes, then go back to .themes and delete the themes, or you will have two instances of said themes in the manager, Do the same for .icons to user>share>icons

NOTE: Be sure to check "Permissions" of pasted folders while they are still grayed out (set Groups and Others to Access folders!)
NOTE 2 : You will have to do this with any new themes or Icons you install if you want them to show in Python gdm2 ! :ugeek:
