So here goes:-
1. Uninstall Gimp from your system:
- Code: Select all
sudo apt-get autoremove gimp gimp-plugin-registry
2. Add the following ppa :
- Code: Select all
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:otto-kesselgulasch/gimp
- Code: Select all
sudo apt-get update
3. Install Gimp 2.8 :
- Code: Select all
sudo apt-get install gimp
ps. This worked on my system flawlessly so it should work on yours as well ; cheers.
