Solved: How do we add a battery indicator to bar Ultimate Edition 12.4

How do we add a battery indicator to bar Ultimate Edition 12.4 32bit dual boot W7

I did a search, and didn't find any real step by step anywhere except...

Battery Status can be installed from package, or from sources. For better experience you should re-login after installation.
Packages for Ubuntu can be found in this launchpad repository:
http://launchpad.net/~iaz/+archive/battery-status
Debian/Ubuntu-related source code tree (with debian/ directory for packaging):
https://code.edge.launchpad.net/~iaz/ba ... atus/trunk
non-Debian/Ubuntu source code tree (without debian/ directory):
http://github.com/ia/battery-status
Command for installation from sources:

# python setup.py install
# GCONF_CONFIG_SOURCE=$(gconftool-2 --get-default-source) gconftool-2 --makefile-install-rule /usr/share/gconf/schemas/battery-status.schemas/quote]

Synaptic would not give me the ADD source. Stopped before I got started with that.

So I tried .....
To install Battery Status in Ubuntu, simply paste this in a terminal:

Code: Select all
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:iaz/battery-status && sudo apt-get update

Code: Select all
sudo apt-get install battery-status

Once installed, right click your Gnome panel, select "Add to panel" and then add the "Battery applet". If you're using Ubuntu Netbook Edition, the Gnome panel is locked and you cannot add/remove applets by default, but here is a fix for this

1. Terminal couldn't find all the parts.....
stopped at that junction also,

2.Beside when "Right clicking" on the top panel / bar I don't get any pop down to do anything with anyway.

So... please... How do I see my BATTERY amount / charge or the lack thereof in Ultimate Edition 12.4?
Strep by step please!
And why not have Software Sorces in MENU? Why get rid of such a "Small" thing that the dummies from planet Windose need to become "converts?"

Oh by the way THIS IS THE BEST OS IN THE WORLD. No brag just FACT!

Press "super+alt+right-click" to add stuff to the panel OR alt+right-click.

super -- is your windows key.

Battery indicator on your panel (taskbar) must show automatically whether its "on charging" or "on battery".

Very sorry for the wrong place, BUT I couldn't move after I posted topic. Would you please move to Ultimate Edition 12.4 Questions, please.

Code: Select all
gsettings set org.gnome.settings-daemon.plugins.power active true

Thank you for the Code.... I'll try the Code as soon as 635 UPDATES (830MB) finish updating, which may be in 1Day and 9 hours, on wifi time.

Is that :
sudo gsettings set org.gnome.settings-daemon.plugins.power active true ? Oh well thanks I'll try it without "sudo" first!

Press "super+alt+right-click" to add stuff to the panel OR alt+right-click.

super -- is your windows key.

Battery indicator on your panel (taskbar) must show automatically whether its "on charging" or "on battery".

Thank you very much.... that is a lifesaver, and I'd never figure that out in a million years. I didn't see it in the Ubuntu 12.4 Manual.

Again thanks.
I'll do that as soon as I get the Code to work, and reboot.
