I think everyone knows my love/dislike relationship with 3.0, lol. First, I loved it. Then, after a week it annoyed me no end. I went to 2.9 but Ultimate Player wouldn`t install. So, I went back to my fave:2.6.3 LTS. But today Chromium froze up three times so badly the whole system froze, resulting in a hard powerdown. So, noticing I still had the 3.0 iso on my Seagate, (and thinking I gave up too soon on it), I reinstalled it. Here is what I`ve learned about making 3.0 work. First, fresh install. Second, use sudo apt-get update, then sudo apt-get upgrade to get all the latest versions of apps. Then? LEAVE IT ALONE! Don`t do what I did the first time, don`t automatically fire up Ubuntu Tweak and start jacking around. Don`t install anything that isn`t already there. Believe me, having Skype and Picasa already installed is my personal slice of Heaven. This is a delicate OS, work with what it gives you and you`ll have no problems. That`s it! (If you absolutely have to have something, ask one of the brains here before trying it yourself). Simple, yes? If you want Linux Mint, then install it. This is ULTIMATE EDITION, the brainchild of Glenn Cady, aka TheeMahn. It is what it is, a gift to all of us from one man. Please honor him and use it as such. He`s a genius, and we are truly privileged to participate in this. Especially now, since his days as an OS developer are winding down.
I love Ultimate Edition & Oz Unity
