Hamachi on Ubuntu

Hamachi is a networking program which connects computers together to make a "Virtual" lan network so you can play games like Age of Empires with a friend 2 country's away without the need for the online game play function.
Hamachi is a pretty self explanatory program to use and below i have found a Howto on how to install it:

Installing Hamachi

Download [url=
http://www.afterdawn.com/software/dawnl ... are_id=872]Hamachi[/url] to your home folder
Open the tar file with Archive Manager and extract the folder to your home. You should now have a hamachi-0.9.9.9-20-lnx folder in your home.
Open your terminal (Applications->Accessories->Terminal) Then run these commands

Code: Select all
cd hamachi-0.9.9.9-20-lnx
sudo make install
sudo tuncfg

Now Hamachi is installed (Hopefully) but keep the Terminal open because we still have some work to do.

Now enter this command into the terminal
Code: Select all
hamachi-init

Then download the Graphical Interface for Hamachi from this link :D Extract the file, right click on the gHamachi file and select propertys and then permissions and allow it to run as a program.
Now double click the file to run the GUI or you could enter
Code: Select all
ghamachi
into the terminal

Point to note: You will need to run sudo tuncfg for every new Hamachi session (i.e after every reboot) or you can set it to auto start in the sessions program

Enjoy and Post Back Your Results!

Kind Regards,
