Hello Ladies & Gents. Just thought I'd share my KDE 4.2.4 installation how to!!

First thing first you need to add third party Repository

You will have to add the following launchpad repository to access this new updated version of KDE 4.2.

Step 1. Goto System > Administration > Software Sources and select the Third-Party Software tab. Click ADD. Copy the following repo there.

deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/kubuntu-ppa/ppa/ubuntu jaunty main

Step 2. Resolving PPA Key Issue

Do the following to resolve the PPA Key issue. Goto Terminal and do.

gpg --keyserver keyserver.ubuntu.com --recv 2836CB0A8AC93F7A

gpg --export --armor 2836CB0A8AC93F7A | sudo apt-key add -

Now Reload the Synaptic Package Manager.

Step 3. Upgrading to all new KDE 4.2.4

All you need to do is, Goto Terminal and type:

sudo apt-get upgrade

Step 4. After the upgrading process is finish. Go to >System > Administration > Synaptic Package Manager. Enter your password when requested. Then go to the "quick search" and type "kubuntu" then look below and select "Kubuntu-desktop" Then right click and select "Mark for installation"

After doing all of that, just "apply" your selections then you should be well on your way to a new KDE 4.2.4.
