Please submit it to the how to section so we can all have a good look at it first. It is a good idea, but we need to leave personal taste out of it and keep it so a 5 year old can follow it. Guides always have to be written for the lowest common denominator or it just confuses and does not help..

Hello pch.shot
If you please tell me what do you want me to submit to the HOW TO?
If it is the Full Guide?sorry it want to the trash and have bean DEL by me.
i want the site to have the Full install of the Ultimate 2.0 plus my Trix.
but it did not work cues i was look like not welcome to post my Full Guide.
i have side up hear that the Admin's can Edit my post to EN lang..
site that not have his on Guide Visual one has to give allot of explanation to users.
If the site have Visual Guide then the site will have easy life for users !
so for that point of time it looks like maybe i was wrong about my point of view :geek:
And as i have said in my post i will make the Guide for the 2.1 for the site,
If the Admin's will first let me post ALL my Guide First.
And then they can EDIT the Guide as they like.

Very good idea for an installation guide of the Ultimate Edition on the forum Amir.I appreciate your hard work for it and the enthusiasm and zeal. Most of the tips&tricks are great but I consider you should be more careful with the important and essential things, especially testing them more and better.I followed your codecs installs too last night and the results were very bad in the end:vlc player and other codecs&dependencies were removed and now I can't listen and watch anything with any multimedia player, even the mp3 files.
I hope none of the new ones and the beginners got into any trouble following these codecs installs.

Hello stanca
First of All thank you for the open mind on the issue of Guide for the Ultimate.
And i thank you for your appreciate my work for the Ultimate site.
let me tray to take you to the right point of the idea of the codecs&dependencies.
user can have the desition with what player he like to work with.
and if he wants to work with VLC you right, the codecs&dependencies not good for him.
but if you have pay attention to my players on the post(half of the post-sorry for that),
you will see that MPlayer ,dragon player,songbird..they are my prefer player.
and if you will make your test from that point of understanding,
you will have no problem at ALL with the player's,you will have no over ram need...
my Guide was build on 400 snapshot with all the best way i see the system work with the Disto.
if you have just look on the 2 shots of video (one video film, the other ON LINE),
you cold have see that it is smooth picture and the stream is perfect.
but it is a conflict between VLC codecs, and MPlayer codecs as you know.
if you don't mind to have a look on my Guide for the 1.9 on my site in Israel,
you will see the way i take my users in the installation of the system step by step.
let me tell you and to the users on the site just one thing to be very clear.
in that point of time,in that age of users,
the best way that i can see with the Israeli's users with ALL kind of Linux systems,
the user want to see the installation VISUAL!
they want step by step Guide and in the end of the process they want working system!
with good video, with good audio...and so on.
they want things to be easy to use, they want easy tools to work with.
they do not wont to be dev anything that is not there job,
there job is to have working system, that will take MS away FAR away from them.
so what i tray to tell you and to the users on the site,
and it was on the FULL Guide, that if the user want to work with the player that he like,
he has allot of options ,but he has to give the right support to the players.
the Guide point to the players that i have mention hear,
and sorry that you did not have the chance to have the ALL Guide to know my explain is right and work fully support the system audio video with ALL format of audio video.
again i thank you for your support of the Guide and to my work for the site of the Ultimate.

Angel
it is not personal thing you and me.
i give answers sometime it is easy to give someone 1 frame and it say all.
it is what you can do with that system, and if you install all the need for VLC
from synptic it will work for you that is simple as that.
Image
if you have all the packages that in the shot you have VLC working .
and i like the site that is way i want to give the users one more point of view .

If the Guide get people into trouble you can DEL ALL the post!
admin and mods do not have to work hard because of me and my Guide that is not FULL.
so you are one of the admins on the site and you can do what is the best for the site.
and you right you do not need to help fix the problems because my Guide.
everyone respects anothers opintion that is the right way with Linux!

My way of thinking on this is kind of like this, I like the step by step and the screen shots and if you have never installed Ultimate before it could make all the difference to someone.

My concern is modifying things right off the bat, its almost posted like its a necessity. We all know.. well most who have used Ultimate for a while know what we like to change to make it "ours" so to speak.

I would be much happier if the install guide was focused on a standard install with whats included on the dvd, possibly showing how to format using different ways or to add a partition for a existing drive.

Then getting it to the desktop GUI the way the Mahn made it.

Then if demand is there I would make a SEPERATE how to showing how to install codecs for making certain things work.

I dont think one how to covering everything together is the way to go.

OK that's my 2cents feel free to chime in with your thoughts everyone.

Dear admins and mods.
to start install the Ultimate system from the begining (if you come from MS),
you can not use the system of the Ultimate, you can use parted magic to partitioner the HDD.
you have to make partition for Linux in the place that the FAT32,NTFS- have to be remove.
Linux can not install on fat32,ntfs.
