I don't believe in dusting furniture. You need the mark to make sure that if you move something you know where it goes. Like a coffee ring stain. How will you know where your coffee mug is supposed to go without that ring?

I'm surprised that it worked after you cleaned it. Would have thought the gunk and dust was holding it all together. Forget about thermal paste, how about some computer toe jam!!

As many of you may know, I live in a kibbutz in the jordan valley, an agricultural area, a lot of wildlife around. We had a couple of computers here that started malfunctioning, apparently motherboards kinda dislike rodent urine on their components and circuits, also, they tend to dislike their cables and wires being eaten by the same rodents that peed on them. So we had twice removed an entire mice family from within the box and "relocated" them to a better place (R.I.P.)

Regarding conky, I like it and I'm using, it's a little harmless cute gadget.
You seem to have an error in the configuration, the parameter "use_spacer" claims to only accept "right", "left" or "none" while your suggested config has "no", it defaulty falls back to "none" anyway, but I thought you'd like to know this. I'd like to know what is this value for, I tried both values and didn't see any difference, shall I buy new glasses?

I have seen the inside of many a dusty desktop.

ever been inside a desktop where there was a lot of smokers and they cooked greasy foods? That there, is some nasty stuff. you begin to wonder why the memory card is sticking to your fingers?? :o I swear to Bob i wanted to pressure wash a few of them out of principle alone. sometimes I can tell how bad its going to be before I crack the seal by looking at the power supply fan outlet. if it has "Dreadlocks" hanging out the back I know I have to take it around back and have it shot j/k. I take it outside to air it out with no less than three cans of air. and basically re-install the components ( chip creep).

I'm sure that's how the black plague was really started. Some medieval computer repair man cleaning out some Pentium 1066.

on some of the desktops, there was a gasket that would rot out and when you unscrewed the panel ( with a screwdriver) you would have to pry it off :D
