How do I upgrade my wine version on Ultimate Edition 2.7

Postby Goldie » Sat Mar 17, 2012 3:30 pm

I am unsure how to upgrade my wine version on Ultimate Edition 2.7

I tried doing it from the synaptic manger, however when I mark wine for upgrade
it says that ultimate edition 2.7 will be removed
1695 MB of space will be used

That was more than scary. So I cancel this and tried this instead.

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade

It ran for awhile but afterwards I am still running an older version of wine.
This did however upgrade me from 10.04 lucid to 10.04.04

Not sure how to get Wine 1.4 installed.

I've looked in Ubuntu Tweak and don't seem to find that option.

Not sure where to look in there. When I click on Applications it says
" that function is not available in my distrubution "

Using Ultimate Edition 2.7

Thankyou for your posts.

However I had already done this and get the errors I mentioned. I am upload some screen shots that show better what I am referring to.
Is there a size limit , I don't want to get in trouble here, we can delete them after you see them so they don't take up space

Here you see the ppa is there

I have selected one and it marks required files also.

Now here it says ... Ultimate Edition 2.7 will be removed if I do this and it requires 1695 MB extra space todo this
I don't want to remove ultimate edition.

I already closed it out that menu and cancelled. It is as I thought .DON'T DO IT. I would be left with plain ubuntu.

trying your next method below.
