To run a command as administrator (user "root"), use "sudo <command>".
See "man sudo_root" for details.

What's the update on this?

Did you resolve windows with Linux or do you need help?

im on win7! it again crashed! i think linux doesnt want me as a master :)
i really think its a graphic problem!is it because i have two graphic cards? or some other bugs? however, much of my hardwares doesnt show compatibility with the linux default drivers!

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/soft ... 33114#N300

as seen in the above, the notebook comes from africa..
i had to look in the african domain only to get the windows drivers, and could not even find the device in www.hp.com ...can this be the cause of suce incompatibility?

well, prepare a set of advice for me, i'll follow them! My actual state is that i've win7 64 bit! i wana dual boot it with Ultimate Edition!infact iv no problem with windows, and im not a gamer also!the reason i wana use linux is because i wana master it... and this also is for self gratification!unfortunately, its very time consuming! so i'll have to learn time management also! ;)

I find this impossible to believe.

I show on my records that I have installed linux on 7 HP laptop dv6 models with 100% success.

2 with the same GPU as you and i3 and i5 processors.

OS used

Ultimate Edition 2.8 Ultimate Edition 2.9 was not available at the time.

edit: just called one of them that has the EXACT same model as you with Ultimate Edition 2.8 and is 100% satisfied.

Thus Ultimate Edition 2.9 would also work no problem what so ever.

Thinking it is your approach, 9 times out of 10 it is we the people that create our problems.

How I installed Ultimate Edition 2.8 on them all.

Drop in the disk and boot to it.

Setup the install to ether pre select space or all of the drive.

Select the boxes to install 3rd party software and updates

Make sure it was connected to INTERNET on install.

Once done, reboot and activated ATI drivers via additional drivers tool. (DID not ATI drivers other then included in repo.)

Reboot and activated all repo's backports etc.

Selected the normal option for updates (thus installing EVERYTHING possible)

Fully updated and then started installing my atypical 3rd party software

Team viewer / virtualbox / picasa / PPA,s for Ipad and Ipod touch 4G support etc / libreoffice PPA,s and files etc.

Installed DVD codecs and restricted exstras with cairo dock and showphoto.

Wala 100% working. Is that simple.

mouse and GPU,s fully working.
