After disabling Openbox and Metacity to make sure they were not running and causing conflict I went into Compiz Settings for a nose around. I noticed KDE Compatibility was not enabled. I enabled it and viola! all is well with the World again. I have proper colours appearing in forms, etc in Firefox as well. Yippeee!!!

Original post follows:
In Ultimate Edition 2.7 I have recently opted to use KDE. It seems to be a much neater environment - at least I think so.
However, when I open 'Appearance' from 'Preferences' I am greeted with what looks like an 'Openbox' applet if I am not mistaken. I only have the choice of three tabs, Window, Icon and Other.
It was like this in Gnome before I left it to come to KDE and I was getting frustrated because I could not get fonts and colours to display properly.
I am using the Emerald Theme manager through Compiz but, I cannot get certain fonts to have the correct colours for Firefox and one or two other programs. In these programs I have a black background with white text - which if fine most of the time but, at other times the white text appears in selection boxes or button faces against the program colours for the boxes which is often white... so, I can't see the text that is in the boxes or on the buttons till I select the box (thank goodness for Tooltips displaying what text is there).
I obviously have a Theme manager setting wrong but, it also looks like there are two Theme managers working as well. Most of the environment is great but for the odd few programs.
Please help or I think I may have to reinstall to get things back to 'Normal'.
Thanks in advance for any pointers to may have.
