shut down the virtual machine, and go to settings then you should be able to enable 2d and 3D acceleration

I shut vb down restarted my comp and still not able to. Any other things I may need to max or enable?

As has been pointed out earlier assuming you are running 2.8(2.7) 64 bit from my own experience compiz or any video acceleration is flawed in 64 bit if it is possible you may need to go to 32 bit. If you have a large enough usb dongle you could try running say 2.6 or 2.7 form it and if it is large enough (probably need at least 4Gb) you could then run vb in that with the game, if it works then you may need to consider going to 32bit,
One thing could you please post your system specs i.e ram, cpu etc.

well went to 32 bit 2.7 and enabled 3d acceleration maxed out video memory to 128 enabled 2d video acceleration launch the game and it still says it cannot detect 3d drivers... any suggestions?
BTW compiz works... but I keep it off

Dit you install the guest additions virtualbox in the gast OS very important.

Can you check your drivers in win 7 in virtual box, not sure if its possible but maybe you need to find a way to update them.
Although i think this pretty much answers your question as the card used in the post is i think more powerful than yours and that struggles. I could be wrong though?
