Installing Reason 4.0 with Wine (not that easy).

Installing Reason 4.0 with Wine (not that easy).

Postby Jeahavee » Tue Jun 22, 2010 11:06 pm

I was thinking hmmm I wanna install Reason on Ubuntu and see how it is. Well it's not that easy. Normally I click the icon and have the disc in and it'll install the program, but when the "insert disc" comes up it never reads the already inserted disc. I also can't run the .exe from the disc to install. Note the photo. I really to give up on this one.

Normally I would say right click then properties then mark as executable but since it's on a cd you'll have to go another route.
Create and image file of the disc then mount the iso with gmount-iso or archive manager and do it, or perhaps copy it all to a folder then do it.
More than one way to attack those issues.

ISO master said no posix extentions found.

Then I extracted the .exe from the iso.

This time when I inserted the CD it found it. Sweetness Installed. <BREW>

If you set up your cd drive in wine it should pick it up with no problem.
