Re: Ho wand's e lite wight Ultimate Edition version LDXE

Postby linuxfreack » Thu Jun 10, 2010 1:49 am

Yesterday I took e look add Lubuntu for the LXDE interface.
I gave e virtual machine 256 mb Ram and still it was super fast and userfriendly.
I tested other lightweight distro's like Damn small linux, puppy linux, ext.(don't really like them)
For me lubuntu dit it all i road e little batch to install all software i needed and it works like e charm.
Therefor i think that this concept of lubuntu tweakt by theemahn in the Ultimate Edition spirit will be e great success.
Also for the people that don't wont to download more than 2gb it's e great way to get to now Ultimate Edition.
This wood by e great idea what do you think.
I will try to help if I can with my limited no ledge. :P

If we all ask polite lie maybe Theemahn will consider it. <BREW>

I hope this post fits in this thread.
Just wandered that is there a command line parameter to pass for the boot menu to launch lxde instead of gnome for the live session. (I suppose there is not.)
Is there such opportunity?
If not a new menu option with "start or install Ultimate Edition from LXDE" would be really desired in the upcoming release!

(ot: Best Wishes! and Keep up the good work!)

I am not in front of a Ultimate Edition 2.6 machine, but you can in the login screen choose the GUI, KDE, Gnome, etc. I think LDXE is one of the choices. Once you set it up there to log in in LDXE you should be able to start any time with it.

If you choose LXDE at login ,it should default to LXDE at next login. Unless you change it to Gnome ,KDE ,ect
