Hello,
I have Ultimate Edition 2.6 installed and have kept the updates current and would like to upgrade it to Ub 10.10. My Update Manager says it's available, but it gives it as Ubuntu 10.10, not Ultimate Edition anything. Since Ultimate Edition is a fairly highly modified version of Ubuntu, I'm wondering if it's ok to upgrade my Ultimate Edition 2.6 via the Update Manager's Upgrade protocol. Or would it be better to just install Ultimate Edition 2.8? If the latter is better, how do I do that preserving all my software & settings.
I suspect that it is ok and that Ubuntu's 10.10 upgrade protocol would leave all modifications in place, giving me an Ultimate Edition 2.6 version of 10.10, but I just wanted to check before borking my system in ignorance. I hope this isn't too dorky-stupid a question. Thanks.
