Could not download all repository indexes

I just did a fresh install of Ultimate Edition 2.6 x86 and every time that I try to check for updates, I get a message as follows:

Could not download all repository indexes

The repository many no longer be available or could not be contacted because of network problems. If available an older version of the failed index will be used. Otherwise the repository will be ignored. Check your network connection an ensure the repository address in the preferences is correct.

Failed to fetch http://ppa.launchpad.net/team-xbmc/karm ... ackages.gz 404 Not Found Some index files failed to download, they have been ignored, or old ones used instead.

I am usually resourceful, but have not been able to locate an answer on any forum. I would greatly appreciate any help in solving this issue, thanks.

xbmc Karmic ppa is down, try this, https://launchpad.net/~team-xbmc/+archive/ppa Remove the old xbmc ppa and replace the ppa and key with the new one.
