Finding synaptic-installed programs in apps menu [solved]

Postby Wolfie Lee » Fri Aug 06, 2010 8:34 pm

Hello, I just installed "libebook-tools-perl" and "convlit" through synaptic, and cannot figure out how to launch either program. I tried just opening the files I wanted converted, but openoffice opened them, just as always (and cannot recognize the character encoding standard). I also tried right clicking and open with other app, and they do not show up in the list of options.

Got it done, thanks. There are many ways to get it done in Linux, but I did not realize that everything would be so complicated just to convert .lit files to .pdf in linux. It is past my bedtime , and I had no patience tonight to struggle through complicated (non- .deb) installations, only to THEN have to struggle through cli commands just to get a few files converted...call me a wuss if you will  , but I switched over to a Windoze rig and used ABC Amber lit converter (a GUI - based batch converter I knew nothing about, either).
