Hello wncdgr .
Thank you for your swift reply.
Previously i have used an Ultimate 2.1 edition on Vista and it worked just fine.
My question is whether i can do the same with the Ultimate 2.6 edition by using wubi again on vista?
I do not want to run it in the vbox as i did it before in the past and I could not use 3-D acceleration and some other features properly etc.
Now I am using my flash drive to open the live/install edition of the Ultimate Edition 2.6 but I do not want to install it on my lappy as it may damage the only one partition which is the C drive and all the back up partitions that were included with windows Vista.
If there is no other option, then my last question would be if it is safe to de-fragment and then resize the disk and create partitions!? In that case which would be the appropriate partition tools that you could recommend to use for this procedure?
Thank you once again.
The first thing to you is I understand your point on the way you want to install the U.E on the vista,
well that will not go sorry - there is allot of Differences from 2.1 to 2.6 systems.
Now to the next option well yes this will be better option to get the installation process to work for you.
you have 2 problems here:
1- you need to use the Flash Disk for 2 Different works.
the First will be to get the ISO of parted magic:
http://partedmagic.com/download.htmland you need to extract the ISO to your flash Drive so you can use the BOOT option to work with it.
To re size your Partition for the installation of the U.E and keep your vista +DATA.
2- you need to format your Flash Drive after you will fix the UNALLOCATED partition for U.E ,
and extract the U.E to your Flash Drive for the U.E installation.
so you can use Unetbootin for MS Software to get it done:
http://unetbootin.sourceforge.net/ But first you have to fragment defragment your C: drive 2-3 Times to get done,
Then you can start to work on the partition resizing.
