Hi all ,
so i logged in as guest and it worked with sound. Then created a new user and tried to delete the old one.
Restart and the pc hung up . I got nerves  and installed again :ugeek:
All fine , then installed Opera and copied my .Opera folder to home all ok. Restart all ok
Installed veetle-vlc from veetle.com (a streaming site for sports and films) all ok. Restart all ok ... :P
This morning starting and ... could not update ICE... and no audio

Blackwolf tried your advice but nothing changed

iam getting real frustrated and thinking going back to 2.5 ...never change a running machine

but if you people have some more ideas.. ok lets see

thanks

Hello deno.

Well yes you do things not right with the process of installing your software.
First of all - download the Ubuntu Tweak (NEW package)and install it on your machine!
then you can install Opera, vlc+plug in's from Synaptic under search-VLC.
And you will need to install codecs=>Synaptic search=>w32codecs+codecs free.
Then please look in the multimedia Guide How To look for the packages you need.

Hi deno .

Well NO there is no package in this name under synaptic but,
look for the needed plug in to add from synaptic and install them on your machime.

The software that you looking at on this site- see the Guide - just use your FireFox player as VLC and not Mplayer as the Default player :

Open a terminal and run:

sudo chown -R user:user /home/user/.*

Where user is your user_name.

From reading various posts, it seems that veetle is your culprit.
Good luck.
