My PC output is routed to my 50" HDTV using DVI to HDMI. I had problems with earlier Nvidia drivers, primarily due to Overscan. My Desktop would overflow the edges of my screen and there were no controls, in Nvidia Settings, to correct for that.
In the past 6 months, the Nvidia drivers, for Ubuntu, now allow me to resize the Desktop. I operate at 1900x1080 and fit the screen perfectly.
